A healthy balanced lifestyle is required to make a successful learning and developing possible. GUtech’s Sports Office organizes besides a wide variety of indoor and outdoor sport activities for its students and staff, lectures and workshops on work/study and life balance.
GUtech’s sports facilities (sport hall, group exercise area and grass field) are a perfect location for the activities and provide all interested people with a comfortable and familiar environment.
GUtech student teams of both genders are participating in national and international tournaments and in friendly matches aside of the regular training sessions.
The weekly activity programme offers fitness classes, ball sports groups and student team’s trainings – separately for both genders. Besides these indoor activities students and staff are offered different sports tours such as canyoning, sailing, diving, kite-surfing and hiking. These outdoor activities are offered in corporation with best-known experts in Oman during the semester. Every semester students can participate in sports tournaments and events at GUtech.

This powerful, energetic, playful flowing yoga class has an emphasis on breathing while allowing beginners, intermediate, and advanced participants to be challenged in the same class. It helps to increase overall muscular strength and endurance and improves your balance and flexibility.
Full body exercises on a high energy level with pauses for recovering burst your energy supply from fat. This training will strengthen your cardiovascular system, will raise your fat burning level and will improve your agility.
Push & Pull
A strength program developed for an interplay of muscles, which some push and others pull. Constantly working against gravity as humans, this class helps to strengthen our rear muscles by using fitness tools such as steps, rubber bands and elastics. You will benefit from a more balanced muscular system.
Fascial Fitness is a new type of training which concentrates on your fascia, the connective tissues of your body, bones, muscles and ligaments are “wrapped” in. A weak or adhered fascia can cause back pain, stiffness and can increase the risk for injuries. This programme is a combination of strengthening and releasing the connective tissues of your body with gentle and specific body movements.
Step & XCO©
This class is a fun challenging strengthening-work out combining Step-Aerobic work-out with the XCO© training tool, a handheld dumbbell which guaranties a safe deep reactive training for entire muscles regions in three-dimensional (3-D Training) and thus natural motion ranges. You will burn 33% more calories by recruiting more muscles and relive stress. Come and shape up!

This Circuit Training at stations designed for women’s fitness needs. A mix of core stability training, strengthening with fitness tools, coordination and stretching at the end, guarantees a full body work out. For Beginners and advanced levels.
If your hamstrings are as tight as rubber bands and the closest you can get to a toe-touch is your knees, you feel stressed out and want to try consider yoga the next fitness class you need to try. It is gender unspecific and helps to improve your flexibility, ward off injuries from your other sports, and you get in a great workout—all to your level of ability and with relaxation.
Men’s Functional Training
Get fitter and strengthened by a fitness circuit which concentrates on muscle hypertrophy. Exercises are with your own body weight and with equipment like kettlebell and resistance bands.
“High Intensity Interval Training”: In less than an hour, you get a full body workout that will not only challenge your cardio but also your muscular endurance. Using minimalist equipment but highest effort to improve coordination, agility and most importantly your level of confidence in your fitness.
