GUtech is dedicated to providing students with the education required to become highly qualified and socially responsible graduates, guided by German excellence and with a firm grounding in Oman's culture and heritage. We accept applications for admission from all nationalities, and details of the entry requirements and application process is outlined below.
Firstly, you need to check the entry requirements into our programmes. If you don't meet the criteria for direct entry onto one of our Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering programmes , then our Pre-University Programme is designed to help prepare students for further study. Successful completion of the Pre-University programme can lead to entry on to one of our Bachelor programmes. You can either download the application form here, or call us on 2449 3051 and we will send you one out. Alternatively drop by to our campus and pick one up. You will need to fill in your application form and return it to us with the following:
For students with international education certificates, equivalency approval from the Ministry of Education is also required. For more information contact the Registration and Students Affairs team before completing the application form on 2449 3051 ext 218 or 206. Please send or submit your completed application form with all supporting documents to our Registration and Students Affairs department, before the corresponding closing date. Five steps to enrol at GUtech We look forward to welcoming you to GUtech. Before you can join us you must enrol at the university. All it takes is five easy steps before you can join the GUtech family. Step 1: Confirm your intention to enrol Complete and sign the confirmation slip enclosed with your offer letter and return it to the Registration and Student Affairs department. It is important that you return your confirmation slip to us within the period highlighted in your offer letter. Once we have received confirmation a place at GUtech will be reserved for you. Registration and Student Affairs Department Step 2: Sit the GUtech English Placement Test The date, time and the location of your English Placement Test are included in your offer letter. Please contact the Registration and Student Affairs department if you are not able to sit the test on the specified date or if you have any questions. The English Placement Test may be waived if you can provide evidence of an IELTS or TOEFL test, or if you have completed your secondary school qualification at an institution where English is the language of instruction. Step 3: Make sure you have all the required documents Please check the list below before enrolling at GUtech:
Step 4: Visit the GUtech Foundation Campus to enrol You will be expected to visit the GUtech Foundation Campus in Athaibah during the enrolment period to receive academic advice, submit necessary documentation, as specified in your offer letter and pay your fees. During your visit, you will meet a member of the Registration and Student Affairs team who will:
The University's bank account is: If your fees are being paid by your employer or another sponsor, you must bring a headed letter from them confirming the sponsorship. If there is any difficulty in obtaining payment you will be required to pay the fees yourself. You may choose to pay fees in instalments. In this case, please submit the corresponding form to request a Tuition Instalment Plan. You will be expected to pay the first instalment of the plan upon enrolment. Please note enrolment is not complete until payment is received. Step 5: Issuing of Student ID Card Upon successful enrolment, you will be issued with a GUtech student card. This will be your evidence that you are a student of the University and will entitle you to borrow books from the Library, activate your Email account and use the University's facilities. You will also be informed of the date and schedule for the Orientation Days. During the Orientation Days, we will provide additional information about how to study at GUtech, rules and regulations, time tables and much more.
