STRONG OMAN-GERMAN TIES
For more than three decades, Oman and
Germany have enjoyed successful cooperation
in the political, economic and cultural
fields. Germans are the largest private
investors on the Arabian Peninsula and are
particularly attracted to Oman because of
the country’s drive for modernisation and
diversification, as well as its political,
social and economic stability.
Over the past years, the two countries have
cooperated over a high-profile
archaeological project at Al Balid in
Salalah, and Oman has become a popular
destination for German visitors wanting to
experience the country’s legendary
hospitality and cultural heritage. This
fruitful relationship between both countries
has now been further cemented with the
establishment of the German University
of Technology in Oman (GUtech) in Muscat, a private
university affiliated to RWTH Aachen
University, Germany.

Said's strong commitment to providing
excellence in education for the country's
youth, the German University of
Technology in Omanwas established in collaboration

recognised educational opportunities.

nurturing close ties with industry in areas
of research and development. The same
emphasis on close linkages to industry will
form a key pillar of the education at the

excellence will ensure strong employment
prospects either in Oman or internationally.
