The rapid advances in data acquisition, storage, processing, and visualization have evolved into an active area of research and development in healthcare systems. New techniques and mechanisms are consequently being creating to respond to the evolving needs of healthcare systems, which are facing diverse and complex everyday challenges. These challenges are ranging from the management of drug inventory and patients’ records to the tracking of medical resources, remote medicine and assistance, and image processing. Emergent additional challenges are particularly concerning real-time mobile patient monitoring, homes and nursing homes, medical transportation logistics, and providing personalized medical services, at the right time for the right patients..
The main objective of this workshop is to bring together researchers from academia and healthcare sectors to share their state-of-the art research and development works in the broad area of using emergent technologies for healthcare systems.
Papers that illustrate new ideas, innovative research results, or survey works covering, but not limited to, the topics of interest listed below will be solicited.

Authors are requested to submit papers reporting original research results. The page limit for papers should not exceed 6 pages. Papers should be prepared using Elsevier (Template). Elsevier author guidelines of Procedia are available at: (Author Guidelines).
Papers must be submitted via email to the Program Chairs (Nafaa Jabeur and Elhadi Shakshuki). In the subject line of the email, please mention “DASPVHS16: Title of your paper“. Authors are requested to submit their papers in PDF format only before the deadline (see Important Dates).
All accepted papers will be published by Elsevier Science in the open-access Procedia Computer Science series on-line. Procedia Computer Science is hosted by Elsevier on www.Elsevier.com and on Elsevier content platform ScienceDirect (www.sciencedirect.com), and will be freely available worldwide. All papers in Procedia will be indexed by Scopus (www.scopus.com) and by Thomson Reuters’ Conference Proceeding Citation Index (http://thomsonreuters.com/conference-proceedings-citation-index/). All papers in Procedia will also be indexed by Scopus (www.scopus.com) and Engineering Village (Ei) (www.engineeringvillage.com). This includes EI Compendex (www.ei.org/compendex). Moreover, all accepted papers will be indexed in DBLP (http://dblp.uni-trier.de/). The papers will contain linked references, XML versions and citable DOI numbers. You will be able to provide a hyperlink to all delegates and direct your conference website visitors to your proceedings.
