HALBAN The International Office at the German University of Technology in Oman (GUtech) has held a webinar on scholarships by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) with funds from the German Federal Foreign Office for self-funded students studying at the university. Currently around 15% of all students are self-funded. Felixa Wingen, Manager of the International Office said: “During the last academic year, 19 students received a DAAD Sur Place-scholarship. The requirements for receiving a scholarship are the completion of the first year of the academic studies at GUtech and excellent study results. In addition to this partial tuition scholarship for self-funded students, GUtech students can receive DAAD scholarships for short-term study visits and internships in Germany, for writing their Bachelor thesis at RWTH Aachen, and for completing a Master’s programme in Germany. Interested students can enquire at the International Office.”
