TU is a registered body under Highfield International for multiple courses at various levels with trainers who are also registered and approved by Highfield International. It also offers courses which are approved by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation. TU intends to provide the top-notch quality which meets international high standards in all sectors.
All TU training courses are adapted to the local context of businesses and respond to local as well as international needs. They cover a wide range of disciplines and conform to the local requirements of local and global standards.
To provide flexibility to our customers, courses can be tailored according to the needs and demands of our clients, remaining within the outline approved by the awarding bodies, to support our clients to achieve their goals and missions.
Highfield International Approved Training Courses
Highfield’s international qualifications are developed by Highfield to provide an effective alternative to the UK regulated qualifications. These qualifications are designed specifically for the learners outside the UK and to the same standard of assessment as the regulated UK qualifications. The only difference is the removal of the UK legislation, enforcement and UK specific systems, allowing centers the flexibility to deliver these international qualifications in compliance with local regulations and the requirements of Oman.
- HABC Level 2 International Award in Security Guarding
This qualification is aimed at learners who want to pursue a career in the security sector in a security officer role.
- Highfield Level 1 International Award in Fire Safety
This qualification is aimed at all staff, particularly new starters, in any workplace where a basic understanding of fire safety is required.
- Highfield Level 1 International Award in Food Safety
The objective of this qualification is to prepare learners for employment in a food business, or to support a current position within a low-risk role, where there is an element of food handling. This could include waiting staff, health care workers, kitchen porters and stock/storeroom staff.
- Highfield Level 2 International Award in Basic Life Support and the Safe Use of an Automated External Defibrillator
This qualification is recommended for learners who wish to understand basic first aid in the workplace and who also have access to a defibrillator.
- Highfield Level 2 International Award in Emergency First Aid, Defibrillation and CPR
This qualification has been developed for those who wish to become an Emergency First Aider and use a defibrillator.
- Highfield Level 2 International Award in Fire Safety
This qualification is aimed at anyone involved in the management of fire safety in any workplace. This includes managers, supervisors, team leaders, fire wardens (marshals) and staff working in any area where there is a potential risk of fire.
- Highfield Level 2 International Award in Food Safety
The objective of this qualification is to ensure that persons who are or will be employed in a food business, are provided with the knowledge and skills necessary to produce safe food.
- Highfield Level 2 International Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace
The aim of the qualification is to provide candidates with knowledge of the basic health and safety practices essential in the workplace. Achievement of this qualification will enable learners to work safely and to recognize and deal with hazards in the workplace, and ensure awareness of cost-effective, practical control methods.
- Highfield Level 2 International Award in Infection Prevention and Control for Housekeeping
This qualification is aimed at anyone needing to develop the underpinning knowledge of how to prevent and control the spread of infection in their workplace, housekeeping and other workplaces such as an office or a factory or home environment.
- Highfield Level 2 International Award in Infection Prevention and Control in the Workplace
This qualification is aimed at anyone needing to develop the underpinning knowledge of how to prevent and control the spread of infection in their workplace; housekeeping and other workplaces such as an office or a factory or home environment.
- Highfield Level 2 International Award in Risk Assessment
This qualification is designed to be an introduction to the principles of Risk Assessment. It covers why risk assessments are necessary including the main causes of workplace fatalities, injuries and ill health, the role of risk assessment in the prevention of accidents and ill health and simple processes for carrying out a risk assessment.
MoHERI Approved Training Courses
The courses have been approved by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation in order to comply with the local market needs. The course outlines are designed by Training Unit and have been reviewed and approved by the ministry itself to meet the legal requirements and local demands. All the trainers are also registered with MoHERI.
2.1 HSSE Training Courses
- Basic Life Support (with CPR & AED)
This course is designed to equip the trainees with the required knowledge and skills to deal with medical emergencies at work in a correct manner and to perform CPR with the safe use of AED.
- First Aid at Work (with CPR & AED)
This course enables the trainee to safely provide first aid in the workplace for life-threatening conditions and other medical emergencies until the arrival of the professional medical team.
- Infection Prevention & Control
The trainee will be able to identify the possible sources and ways of infection and ways to prevent them, as well as learn about the ways of infection transmission in the work environment, and the importance of maintaining personal hygiene at an acceptable level.
- Managing Health & Safety at Work
This program enables the trainees to define and manage the elements of health and safety in the workplace to identify and control potential risks. It also briefs them about the rules and regulations that must be adhered to in order to ensure the implementation of good health and safety practices in the workplace, and the legal consequences of non-compliance.
- Food Safety & Hygiene
In this course, the trainees will be familiarized with the principles of food safety and their reflection on human health, immunity, and ability to work. They will also be trained to determine food sources, classifications, types of foods, and food quality as well as identify common risks in food, food packaging, and preservation, and the risks of food poisoning in terms of its sources and symptoms. In addition, the course highlights the importance of following healthy habits through regular personal hygiene, especially considering the spread of airborne infectious diseases such as the Coronavirus, and the correct way to wash hands and using of PPEs.
- Fire Safety / Fire Warden & Evacuation Techniques
This course introduces the trainees to fire hazards, fire detection, firefighting techniques, and safe evacuation. The participants will come to know the elements of the fire triangle and the main causes of fire. Also, they will become aware of the cost of a fire to the employer, employees, society, and the environment.
2.2 Soft Skills Training Courses
- General English Language
This course enables one to speak fluently and with accuracy as well as develop the skills of reading, writing, and listening. This is helpful in functional and situational contexts to understand and convey information.
- Developing English Language Skills
Developing English Language course is designed for the learners who want to develop their skills of speaking, writing, listening, and reading. The aim is to improve the overall ability of the English language; increasing the proficiency and confidence in speaking and using English.
This course is outlined around the concepts and necessary skills needed for the modern-day digitalized world for learning basic IT skills and literacy for primary level learners and about the security and ethical issues in computing.
- Social Responsibility
The course introduces the concept of corporate social responsibility, which involves the ideas of improving the products, profits, brand equity, whether organizations should expand their focus from serving stockholders to also considering the impact of the firm’s activities and the obligations on the society they are operating in, and how to frame business goals in line with societal expectations.
- Work / Business Ethics
This course introduces business ethics as the modern managerial approach to ethical questions in the business environment, the understanding of main theoretical concepts, developing skills of identification, analysis, and the effect of ethical dilemmas on a workplace and managing ethics in organizations.
2.3 Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Training Courses
This course is designed to become a DCRP Junior or Senior expert, covering the foundation of solar system design, equipment specifications, site analysis, installation, and maintenance. It is geared for those working with Solar Systems, PV Design and Installation companies, utilities and inspectors, PV component manufacturers and anyone looking to learn more about the solar industry.

3. Specialized Training Courses
This level 1 mechatronics program enables participants to obtain the Level 1 Mechatronic Systems Assistant certification which is the first of three certifications in a series. Each certification is based upon a specified, industry-driven job profile which helps an employer determine where this person can be best placed within the organization. The ‘Level 1 (Assistant) Certification’ consists of these four standardized courses and is delivered at GUtech’s highly equipped mechatronics lab:
