Thanks to a generous donation from the Viridien Group (Oman), the Applied Geosciences department was able to acquire new teaching materials for our Mineral Resources courses. This includes a collection of 40 ore minerals to help our students identify ore deposits in Oman. In addition, there is a collection of 40 polished ore sections for microscopy. This welcome addition represents a significant improvement to the department’s collection and will be used in both Bachelor’s and Master’s courses.
