Innovative Hybrid Mobile Green Generator System: A Sustainable Solution for Clean Energy Generation
Abstract
This document outlines a project aimed at developing a Mobile Green Generator in Oman to facilitate the transition toward eco-friendly energy solutions. This initiative is pivotal in global and local efforts to combat climate change, reduce carbon emissions, and prioritize renewable energy sources to mitigate environmental impact. Unlike conventional generators dependent on fossil fuels, these green portable generators harness renewable resources such as solar and wind, utilizing advanced technologies to enhance energy efficiency. The central objective of this research proposal is to investigate the feasibility and viability of substituting conventional diesel generators with solar photovoltaic (PV) systems in remote sites without national grid electricity access. The study aims to comprehensively assess the technical, economic, and environmental implications of transitioning to renewable solar energy sources. This involves conceptualizing, designing, and implementing a strategically tailored Mobile Green Power Generator for deployment in Oman, addressing the growing need for sustainable mobile power solutions in the country, promoting environmental conservation, and advancing the nation’s renewable energy agenda. In pursuit of this goal, the research will encompass the following milestones: firstly, the development of a Standalone Solar System (Design and implementation) to evaluate the technical feasibility of integrating solar PV systems to replace or enhance the operation of diesel generators in powering specific operations within the designated setting; and secondly, to conduct a comprehensive cost-beneffit analysis comparing the initial investment, maintenance, and operational costs of solar PV systems versus the current diesel generator setup; and thirdly, to quantify and analyze the environmental impact, including reductions in carbon emissions, air pollution, and overall sustainability metrics, resulting from the implementation of solar PV systems. This holistic approach to developing and deploying the Mobile Green Power Generator is poised to contribute to advancing Oman’s sustainable energy future.
