GUtech and Marafiq Strengthen Collaboration on Sustainability, Training, and Community Projects in Duqm

As part of strengthening collaboration between academia and industry, the German University of Technology in Oman hosted a joint meeting with Marafiq Company, led by Hon. Dr. Hussain Al Salmi, Deputy Rector for Administration and Finance at GUtech, and Eng. Abdulrahman Al Kharoosi, General Manager of Marafiq, along with officials from both sides.

The discussions focused on joint community projects in Duqm, improving living standards through sustainable initiatives, and enhancing cooperation in training and capacity building programmes. Both parties agreed on hosting GUtech students for training at Marafiq facilities and organising field visits to Duqm. They also highlighted the importance of research collaboration in sustainability.

The meeting concluded with a presentation about GUtech, showcasing its academic achievements, research contributions, and strategic partnerships.

This collaboration reflects the shared commitment to supporting national development and preparing students for the labour market, in line with Oman Vision 2040.
