GUtech Signs MoU with British Explorer Mark Evans to Promote Sustainability and Ocean Awareness

The German University of Technology in Oman has signed an MoU between Prof. Dr. Michael Braun, Rector of GUtech, and British explorer Mark Evans, to enhance students’ knowledge about sustainability and the oceans.
This collaboration is led by Dr. Heba Aziz, UNESCO Chair for World Heritage and Sustainable Tourism in the Arab Region, with Mr. Abbas Zaidi, and supported by the entire GUtech team.
Mark is preparing for the Oman 3165 Expedition, a solo kayak journey along Oman’s full 3,165 km coastline starting from Khasab in November 2025, promoting awareness of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, especially Goal 14 “Life Below Water”, aligning with Oman Vision 2040 and its focus on environmental sustainability and blue economy sectors.
