The German University of Technology in Oman (GUtech) actively supports startups that promote low-carbon technologies. This is exemplified by its backing of Dymuma Advanced Projects (DAP), an Omani tech startup co-founded by Hilal al Hashmi and Ibrahim al Jassasi. DAP develops solar PV self-cleaning robots to reduce dust accumulation on panels, improving the efficiency of large-scale solar farms in line with Oman’s Vision 2040.
Headquartered at GUtech in Halban and established in 2021, DAP has received technical support from the university, initial funding from BP Oman, and licensing from the Distribution Code Review Panel (DCRP).
GUtech further supports innovation through its GUStartHub incubator, providing mentorship, networking, and resources to technology-based startups, fostering growth and contributing to the development of low-carbon solutions.
