Abdullah Ibrahim Alrashdi, a 4th year student in Urban Planning and Architectural Design (UPAD) at the German University of Technology in Oman (GUtech), is proudly representing the university and the Sultanate of Oman as a member of the curatorial team for the Sultanate of Oman Pavilion at the 19th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia 2025. This historic event marks Oman’s debut at the prestigious Architecture Biennale. The national pavilion, titled “Traces”, was commissioned by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth, and explores the reinterpretation of the traditional sablah as a modern civic space bridging heritage and contemporary design thinking.
The exhibition officially opened on May 10, 2025, and runs until November 23, 2025, attracting a global audience. Abdullah’s involvement demonstrates GUtech’s dedication to fostering globally engaged, culturally grounded architects and planners who contribute meaningfully to both local and international discourse.
