Prof. Dr. Braun Receives Germany’s Highest Honor

On June 30, 2025, GUtech Rector Prof. Dr. Michael Braun received Germany’s highest honour, the Cross of Merit on Ribbon of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany. It is the highest award given to an individual in Germany. The laudatory speech stated that Professor Braun had shaped the German higher education system with outstanding commitment, academic excellence, and strategic vision. In particular, he had made an invaluable contribution to the close interlinking of science, economy, and society.
The ceremony took place in the New Museum for Art and Design in the historic old town of Nuremberg, Germany, in the presence of many distinguished guests.
